Higher Bandwidth
One of the most important trends in Ethernet cabling is the move to higher bandwidth. Cat 6 cables are capable of supporting speeds of up to 10 Gigabit per second (Gbps), but new technologies are emerging that could push this limit even further. Cat 6A cables, for example, can support speeds of up to 100 Gbps, and Cat 7 cables can support speeds of up to 400 Gbps.
Lower Latency
Latency is another important consideration for Ethernet cabling. Latency is the amount of time it takes for a signal to travel from one point to another, and it can be a major issue for applications that require real-time data transmission. Cat 6 cables have a latency of around 100 nanoseconds, but new technologies are emerging that could reduce this latency even further. New technologies are emerging, however, that could improve the security of Cat 6 cables. Cat 6A cables, for example, can be used with a variety of security features, such as encryption and authentication.
